The proposed extraction area covers around 26 hectares (64 acres) - it will be worked in four phases and will yield a little under 1 million tonnes of high quality sand and gravel. The Sand & Gravel at the site will be worked over a period of around 8 years followed by 2 years to complete the restoration, giving an overall site lifespan of around 10 years. The site will provide approximately 8 jobs directly at the site, and many more indirectly within the local economy.

When Phase 2 (the northern field area) is being worked and then restored, the Public Footpath along the southern edge of this field will cross the quarry access route linking Phase 2 to the rest of the site. To ensure continuity of footpath access throughout the work, a gated crossing point will be installed, with the footpath given priority over quarry traffic.

On completion, in the restoration plan developed by Greenfield Environmental Ltd, the northern part of the site will be restored to a range of habitats and landforms that promote native woodland and wildlife, delivering enhanced biodiversity, whilst the southern part will be mainly restored to agriculture with some areas of species-rich grassland and planted trees.
